WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR
Instructor, NANCY CHEAIRS
Color is one of the most powerful ways to express feelings in painting and drawing. We will explore how to mix colors and work toward the goal of producing expressive imagery.

WIRE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP
Working with wire is really just a way of drawing in three-dimensional space. While drawing on paper or canvas offers a view into another world, sculpture lives with you in space and in the moment.
We will use wire to find linear expression and a suggestion of volume. The results range from being surprisingly simple (think Calder!) or excitingly complex.
Using steel and copper wire, students will explore simple forms through techniques of bending, joining, wrapping and weaving. Through these techniques, we will explore the versatility of this medium by incorporating movement and/or the inclusion of found objects.

ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOP
Tuesdays & Thursdays
Morning Session: 9:30 – 12:30 or Evening Session: 6-9
In this workshop you’ll discover the ease and versatility of acrylic painting. First we'll focus on how to work with the paint while mixing a color palette. Next, through techniques such as washes, glazes, scumbling, impasto, and other paint applications, you’ll learn that acrylics have their own inherent properties, but the artist can also mimic other mediums like water colors and oils. Finally, there will be time to apply your new knowledge using your own style in an open painting session.
Every new medium helps the artist learn more about their own process. Whether you are an experienced painter or just beginning to dabble in the visual arts, this workshop will provide you with useful techniques to take along on your creative journey.
Instructor, ERIN WRIGHT
